School Pastry Chef

School Chef (Pastry) | £18.31 per hour | Brentwood

If you're a solid all-round chef who's comfortable with pastry and baking, and you like the rhythm of a school kitchen, this is a good one.

We're looking for a chef to cover a temporary assignment at a well-regarded independent school in Brentwood, starting 1st June. Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. At least a week, possibly longer. No evenings, no weekends, no split shifts.

The kitchen runs to a high standard. The catering team has won awards for nutrition and the food is freshly prepared on site every day, using quality British produce. You'll need to hit the ground running, work cleanly, handle allergens properly, and contribute across the kitchen with a particular focus on pastry and baked goods. If you've worked in education catering before, you'll feel right at home.

What you get:

£18.31 per hour, paid every Friday. Consistent daytime hours that leave your evenings free. You'll be registered with Appetite4Work, a specialist hospitality and catering agency covering Hertfordshire and Essex, so if the assignment leads to more work, we've got it.
