Temporary Chefs Needed – Schools & Care Homes | London | From £16 per hour

Are you an experienced and reliable chef looking for flexible work across London? We are currently recruiting Temporary Chefs of all levels to support both school kitchens and care home settings across the capital.

This is a great opportunity to use your culinary skills in meaningful environments, helping to provide nutritious, high-quality meals to students and residents alike.

The Role

You will be working in school and care home kitchens, preparing and serving meals that meet a variety of dietary needs, including allergen-aware and modified diets. You may support existing teams or lead shifts when required, always maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Pay Rate

From £16 per hour, depending on your experience and level of responsibility.

Requirements

Minimum 6 months’ experience in a school, care home, or similar catering environment
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (issued within the last 2 years or registered on the Update Service) – essential
Relevant training certificates, including:
Food Hygiene
Health & Safety
Allergen Awareness
Experience with special dietary requirements (e.g. allergies, soft or puréed diets) is highly desirable
Chef whites and knives (required for certain sites)
Strong organisational skills, reliability, and the ability to adapt to different kitchen environments

Support & Training

If your certifications have expired or you do not currently hold a DBS, we can support you with:

Refresher training courses
Assistance with obtaining a new DBS
