Chef de Partie – Hospital Kitchen (Temporary • Zero-Hour Contract)

Location: Clacton on Sea (approx 25 mins drive from Colchester)

Start: ASAP – ongoing work available until at least October.

Shifts: 08:00–17:00 or 09:00–18:00, including weekends

Rate: £18 per hour (plus holiday pay accrued separately)

Pay: Weekly, every Friday via PAYE through Appetite4Work

Are you an experienced Chef de Partie looking for flexible hours and steady, ongoing work? We’re hiring for a hospital kitchen near Colchester, and we’re ready to get the right person started straight away.

This is a great opportunity to work in a professional, well-run kitchen preparing meals for patients and staff. The shifts are daytime only, so no late nights. You’ll work as part of a friendly team and play an important role in keeping everything running smoothly.

You’ll be able to pick up shifts that suit you using our easy-to-use app, and you’ll be paid weekly every Friday.

What you’ll need:

A valid Enhanced DBS check
Level 2 Food Safety & Allergens Awareness (completed in the last 2 years – we’ll provide this free if you need it)
Full chef whites, hat, apron
Your own knives and appropriate footwear (safety shoes preferred)

As a Chef de Partie, you’ll help prep and serve meals in line with the site's dietary standards and hygiene protocols. You’ll support the team with daily kitchen tasks, manage sections, and help ensure everything runs on time.

This role is ideal if you’re looking for reliable work without being tied to set hours. There’s no guaranteed rota – shifts are zero-hour and flexible – but the work is ongoing and available for the right candidate.
