Assistant Restaurant Manager (Temp to Perm) - Haywards Heath

Appetite4work are looking for an experienced and energetic Assistant Restaurant Manager to help launch and lead an exciting new premium restaurant in Haywards Heath, Sussex!

This is a hands-on leadership role with real impact, building a team from the ground up, setting standards and delivering exceptional guest experiences in a values-led hospitality business.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day restaurant operations and run key services
• Recruit, train and inspire a high-performing front-of-house team
• Deliver outstanding, memorable guest experiences
• Work closely with kitchen leadership to drive excellence across the business
• Maintain high standards of service, safety, cleanliness and compliance
• Handle guest feedback professionally and confidently
• Support labour planning, budgets and operational efficiency
• Help plan and deliver events
• Champion sustainable and responsible hospitality practices

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or similar
• Background in quality-led hospitality; opening experience is a plus
• Confident, calm leader with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach
• Strong operational knowledge, including labour and cost control
• Excellent communication and organisation skills
• Passion for hospitality, people and guest experience
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Role Details

• Full-time role - temp to perm
• 5 days per week, including evenings and weekends
• Start date from April 2026 (subject to availability)
