Kitchen Manager – Private Members Health Club – Knebworth
Up to £40,000 per year (DOE) + Free Membership + Day Shifts
If you're a chef looking for more balance, this Kitchen Manager role offers real autonomy, day shifts, and a professional but relaxed setting. Say goodbye to corporate menus and late nights.
You’ll join a private members’ health club in Knebworth, leading a team of four (including yourself) and running a fresh, seasonal food offer. You’ll report into the F&B Manager, but the kitchen is yours to lead - including three full menu changes each year that you’ll own from planning to delivery.
Why this Kitchen Manager job stands out:
- Typical hours: 07:00–15:00 with only occasional evenings
- Up to £40,000 per year depending on experience
- Free club membership (worth ~£80/month) and free on-site parking
What you’ll do:
- Lead day-to-day kitchen operations and standards
- Plan and deliver three seasonal menu changes per year
- Manage and motivate a small team of 4, including yourself
What we’re looking for (Essential):
- Experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or Sous Chef ready to step up
- Confident with kitchen management: GP, stock, rotas, and food safety
- Able to lead calmly and professionally, including during busy weekends
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a leisure venue or members’ club
- Experience delivering fresh, daytime menus in a quality setting
A realistic preview of the role:
- You won’t work every weekend, but your fair share will be expected
- The kitchen is your domain, but you'll work closely with the F&B Manager
- There’s space to shape and improve, especially for someone proactive
If you’re ready for a chef role that gives you control, consistency, and breathing room, we’d love to hear from you.
