The role

You'll be cooking in school kitchens across Hertfordshire and Essex, preparing fresh meals in a structured environment that gets you out before the evening service that burns most kitchen teams out. Some sites don't have a kitchen porter, so you'll need to be comfortable covering washing up when needed. That's the honest version, and the chefs who fit best here don't see it as beneath them.

This is agency work, so there's no fixed rota and no set hours. You choose when you work. A car is essential given the spread of locations across both counties, and an Enhanced DBS check is required before you start. We'll guide you through the process.

What you get

£17.31 per hour, paid every Friday without fail. Holiday pay is included on top. You're in control of your own diary, picking up as much or as little work as suits you across a wide range of schools in both counties. And when you need something, our team actually picks up the phone.
