<p>Agency School Kitchen Assistant</p><p>Looking for flexible weekday work with weekly pay? Appetite4Work is hiring agency Kitchen Assistants to support schools and education sites across the local area.</p><p>Our school clients regularly need additional catering staff to cover sickness, absence and busy periods, with opportunities for both individual shifts and ongoing placements.</p><p>As an agency School Kitchen Assistant, you’ll benefit from:</p><ul><li>Weekly pay every Friday</li><li>£13.00 per hour, with holiday pay accrued separately</li><li>Flexible, zero-hour contract</li><li>Predominantly Monday to Friday daytime work</li><li>Opportunities for regular and ongoing school placements</li><li>Access to our easy-to-use shift and support app</li><li>Dedicated consultant at Appetite4Work to support you</li><li>Appetite4Work can cover the cost of your Enhanced DBS</li></ul><p>What you’ll be doing:</p><ul><li>Supporting the school catering team with food preparation</li><li>Assisting with breakfast and lunchtime service</li><li>Serving meals to pupils and staff</li><li>Setting up and clearing down dining areas</li><li>Washing up and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen</li><li>Following food hygiene, allergen and health &amp; safety procedures</li><li>Supporting chefs and other catering staff where required</li></ul><p>What we’re looking for:</p><ul><li>Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude</li><li>Previous kitchen, catering or hospitality experience</li><li>Confidence working as part of a busy catering team</li><li>Regular weekday availability</li><li>Previous school or contract catering experience is desirable</li><li>Drivers are preferred for some locations due to limited public transport</li></ul><p>DBS requirements:</p><p>As you will be working within schools and education settings, an Enhanced DBS is required.</p><p>If you already hold a suitable Enhanced DBS registered on the DBS Update Service, please let us know when applying.</p><p>If you do not currently have the required DBS, Appetite4Work can arrange and cover the cost of a new Enhanced DBS for suitable candidates. Please be aware that DBS applications can take several weeks to be processed, so we encourage interested candidates to apply as soon as possible.</p><p>Essential requirements:</p><ul><li>Right to work in the UK</li><li>Ability to follow food hygiene, health &amp; safety and allergen procedures</li><li>Ability to reliably travel to your booked school placements</li><li>Willingness to complete the required training and DBS process</li></ul><p>Working hours:</p><p>The majority of our school Kitchen Assistant shifts take place Monday to Friday, usually between approximately 09:00 and 16:00, although exact hours will depend on each school’s requirements.</p><p>Our schools value consistency, so reliable Kitchen Assistants who perform well may be requested back regularly and have the opportunity to build up ongoing weekday work.</p><p>This role could be particularly suitable for anyone looking for daytime work that can fit around family, childcare or other commitments.</p>
